Brett Willims 2015 Illawarra VET Student of the Year

Congratulations to Brett Willims from Corpus Christi Catholic High School, whose motivation and skill for the Construction industry won them recognition as VET Student of the Year 2015 in the Illawarra.

WLI Chairperson Tracey Freeman presenting Brett Willims from Corpus Christi Catholic High School with the 2015 Illawarra Overall VET Student of the Year award.

“Brett entered the Construction VET course as a head start into the trade. The student was offered three apprenticeships from different host employers upon completing a week of industry workplacement with each. Brett will be commencing an apprenticeship with Simmons Carpentry, but his long term goals include: a builder’s license, renovations, and growing a real estate portfolio. Brett’s energy and focus have also seen him working a local dairy farm, competing in National Ironman events, bush firefighting and more!

Brett has been a great example of utilising learning opportunities whilst enjoying life’s journey along the way.”
