Lachlan Rye 2016 Illawarra VET Student of the Year

Congratulations to Lachlan Rye from TAFE NSW Illawarra attending Warilla High School, whose motivation and skill for the Business Services industry won them recognition as VET Student of the Year 2016 in the Illawarra.

Lachlan was nominated by IOH Wollongong where he attended Workplacement from March 7th – 11th 2016. Lachlan quickly adapted to the different requirements in various departments across the organisation with a level of maturity beyond his years. The duties he undertook with professionalism and enthusiasm included managing patient files, archiving recording and tracking and collating manuals. Lachlan was proactive in seeking additional work, had excellent communication and organisational skills and provided exceptional customer service. Lachlan also did workplacements at My Dental Team and The Commonwealth Bank

Lachlan impressed the judging panel with precise and comprehensive answers to all questions asked about his course, his workplacement experiences and his future goals.  Lachlan’s portfolio was very impressive and the Panel were unanimous that Lachlan was a standout student that is sure to have a bright future ahead of him. Lachlan is hoping to study at University in 2017.”
