Amazon Web Services – Innovators in Virtual Work Placement

Amazon Web Services (AWS) in partnership with the Workplace Learning Network have undertaken a ground-breaking virtual work placement of 275 Information & Digital Technology students from across NSW.

This collaboration saw students working in teams with AWS mentors who are world leaders in cloud computing technology and artificial intelligence.  Along with developing a ChatBot computer program that simulates human conversation through voice or text command using Artificial Intelligence technology, students were introduced to a range of IT skills that will drive innovation in the future.

Workplace Learning was able to co-ordinate the participation of students from Albion Park, Batemans Bay and St John The Evangelist High Schools and Carroll College.

Leanne Grogan, Workplace Learning’s CEO, said this was an extraordinary opportunity for regional students to have access to a global business who was able to make available for a whole week such highly skilled mentors.  AWS are to be well and truly congratulated for their commitment to developing our future innovation leaders.
