ILLAWARRA CAREERS EXPO
ILLAWARRA CAREERS EXPO
OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUR FUTURE
The Illawarra Careers Expo has been running in the Illawarra for over 40 years. Held annually in May, the Expo connects over 5,500 young people from Years 9 -12 to over 100 exhibitors from Universities, TAFE, Registered Training Organisations, Group Training Organisations, Industry and Professional Bodies, and Employers.
Attended by Government, Catholic, and Independent schools from the Illawarra, Shoalhaven, and Southern Highlands, the Expo is an opportunity for young people to learn about their pathways once they finish school. The core mission of the Expo is to connect, to engage, and to educate our community about the wide array of opportunities available to them.
WHAT HAPPENS AT THE CAREERS EXPO
EVENT INFORMATION
The Illawarra Careers Expo is held annually over 2 days in the month of May. The expo caters for exhibitors, students and the general public.
FOR STUDENTS
All students attend the expo at alloted time periods (sessions) over the 2 day period. These are organised in advance with your school.
There will also be a dedicated quiet session with reduced sensory stress. This session is suitable for students with ASD, sensory processing disorders, anxiety, mental health disorders and additional barriers that may inhibit them attending the Expo during the registered school session.
FOR THE PUBLIC
Each year Workplace Learning will open the expo to members of the local community. In 2025, over 300 people attended the Free Public Session.
The Free Public Session is attended by parents and guardians, school leavers, students returning to the Expo, and young adults.
