Our background
Bamara is about people – acknowledging their unique circumstances, understanding their goals – and achieving a positive impact through our support and services. At the heart of our organisation are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
Bamara is an Indigenous-owned business created to deliver social impact programs to Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities, focusing on providing culturally competent services that positively impact the lives of participants.
Our passion and commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander economic independence for Indigenous communities and individuals stem from our Indigenous majority shareholder, David Liddiard OAM.
Bamara is a Joint Venture between the David Liddiard Group and Asuria.
The JV partners bring together the vast experience of Asuria in the employment services field and the diverse and extensive authentic relationships and wealth of education and transition to employment experiences that David Liddiard and his team have developed over many years with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
Bamara delivers services in communities across New South Wales, the Northern Territory, and Queensland. Our focus is on building individual and community capacity and prosperity through the design and delivery of projects, programs and initiatives underpinned by Australian government (state and federal) funding.
Connecting with local Elders and leaders is crucial to us as we focus on appropriately tailoring services to support the strengths, challenges, experiences, cultures, and lifestyles of the local communities in which we operate and to ensure that their voices guide our service delivery.
Education, employment, and training have always been fundamental to Bamara’s commitment to helping local communities prosper. We’re able to grow our programs and services in the jobs and employment sector to help further people achieve economic independence.
