Far South Coast Schools Excellence in Vocational Education & Training Awards – WINNERS

The Workplace Learning Excellence in Vocational Education & Training (VET) Awards unfortunately were cancelled due to the uncertainty around COVID. The day was to celebrate the many young people from the Far South Coast Schools who have taken the opportunity to access Vocational Education and Training while still at school so have started their career journey early.
Across the Illawarra, Southern Highlands, Shoalhaven and South Coast, Workplace Learning will place around 4500 students into Work Placement. Some 510 of these placements will be here on the Far South Coast with the most popular areas being Hospitality, Tourism and Construction. Industry work placement enables employers to provide real industry-based skills to students as part of the course they are studying for their HSC. To be eligible students are nominated by their school, EVET provider or local employers who have hosted the students on industry work placement.
Workplace Learning takes pride in our role of bringing students and employers together. Each year we look to more than 200 businesses here on the Far South Coast to use their industry knowledge and expertise and provide training and mentoring to the many students who require it as part of their HSC. Employers participate voluntarily. Our experience is that they take a great deal of pride and satisfaction out of being involved in passing on their expertise to the next generation. They also put a significant amount of time into ensuring the workplace experience of students are an invaluable part of their schooling. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without their support.
We would also like to thank our sponsors Apprenticeship Support Australia and Department of Education – Training Services NSW, because without them we would not be able to run these awards.
Workplace Learning would like to congratulate the following students on their outstanding achievement:
