Work Placement in 2020

Work Placement in 2020

In response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) has taken the decision to waiver the mandatory work placement requirement for students studying vocational education and training (VET) subjects as part of their Higher School Certificate for this year.  Students continuing the course in 2021, will meet the course requirement if they complete 35 hours of work placement. For most courses this is a reduced requirement and it is anticipated that the placement could be completed later in 2020, or in 2021.

However, work placements for the remainder of 2020 will depend on when the Government takes the decision to lift the current social distancing rules.

Workplace Learning remains committed to ensuring the work, health and safety of our staff and the community we serve. We would like to thank the commitment of those employers who host work placements, the VET teachers/staff and the students – we look forward to continuing to work with you once this pandemic is behind us.

We continue to operate in these difficult times and can be contacted on either 4225 2526 or 4422 0988.
